Draft
This is a proposed entry.
This entry is currently being proposed as a permanent part of the ontology. It should be considered a draft and not really part of the "official" ontology.

A save is when a gameworld is reentered at the exact temporal point that it was exited. While there are many design strategies that determine under which conditions a game may be saved, and what state the game returns to when a save file is opened, the act of saving a game is essentially creating a recallable index of a pause without gameworld agency.
